The Virgin Islands Board of Education provides financial assistance to Virgin Islanders committed to advancing their education.  We offer scholarships, grants, and loans including:

The territorial Loan/Grant is administered by the Virgin Islands Board of Education.  Students are awarded with loans and/or grants.  All loans payments begin one (1) year after graduation at an interest rate of 6% and a 2% delinquency rate.

There are more than 20 different special legislative grants that offer $600 to $7,000 per year.

Scholarships shall be granted in meritorious cases to employees in service in the Government of the United States Virgin Islands, to enable such employees to peruse study and training for improvement in their fields.

Applicants for the nursing scholarship must meet all VIBE eligibility requirements and have a cumulative grade point average of not less than 2.5/4.0. An official high school or college transcript and acceptance letter for freshman, transfer or graduate students is also required.

This scholarship, available only to active Virgin Islands Government employees, offer up to $45,000 for one year. Read More

 

Eligibility Requirements

Let the Virgin Islands Board of Education help you achieve your educational dreams.  Our financial aid is exclusively for Virgin Islands residents.  Applicants must meet the following requirements to qualify for financial assistance from the Virgin Islands Board of Education:

  • Be a bona fide residents or the Virgin Islands
  • Be a graduate from a high school in the Virgin Islands
  • Be accepted to / or attending an accredited institution full time
  • Have a cumulative grade point average of not less than 2.0
